Then finally the day comes for the new owner to retrieve the puppy. Always a moment where they really look forward to.
We never let a puppy before the age of eight weeks leave the litter.

Opinions are quite divided what is now the best age for a puppy to leave the nest. There have been several studies and the outcome is anyway not good for a puppy to soon leave the nest. The puppy needs the security of the nest  to feel safe. The move to a new home is a traumatic experience for the young puppy and we should make it as 'easy' as possible for him.
So we always look at the puppy and then decide whether he at 9 or more preferably 10 weeks will leave the nest.
The puppy is always our  top priority in the decision. Not the owner who wants to have soon the puppy in the house.
